Yet one more surprise with this pregnancy...

I had my 39w appointment today. The midwife from last week wanted an ultrasound ordered to check the fluid and her weight. I didn't have one with Cam so I was a little surprised.

Well, I was more surprised today during the ultrasound. It was my favorite tech, she remembered me from the 18w u/s. Her daughter also works at the office and she said she told her daughter "that's how you're going to look when you're pregnant, cute and all belly!" That made me feel good since I feel like a house.

So...she puts the probe on my belly and says "She's breech." Umm, WHAT?????????? Yep, what I thought was her butt lodged against my ribs is actually her head. What I thought was her head bouncing off my cervix is actually her foot. I was shocked, though I shouldn't be surprised with anything since this pregnancy has been nothing but surprises. Her heart rate was great, 142bpm, fluid excellent, approximate weight is 6lbs 13oz.

After waiting AN HOUR for the nurse practitioner to come in she told me what I already know. A c-section will be scheduled. I signed the release form and I'm now waiting for a call back as to when this child will be born.

I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!

Here's the little princess:

The Meaning of a Name

I went online today to look at the meanings of the names we have for Baby B. I thought maybe it would help me decide on one.

Here they are:

Arianna
The name Arianna is a baby girl name. The name Arianna comes from the Italian origin. In Italian The meaning of the name Arianna is: Form of the Greek Ariadne, meaning very holy.

Lillian
The name Lillian is a baby girl name. The name Lillian comes from the English origin. In English the meaning of the name Lillian is: Variant of Lillian derived from the flower name Lily. Symbol of innocence; purity; beauty.

Kendall
The name Kendall is a baby boy name. The name Kendall comes from the English origin. In English The meaning of the name Kendall is: Variant of Kendal: Royal valley. Derived from a place name and surname 'Cumbrian', which means 'Valley of the River Kent'.

The fact that Kendall is a "boy" name does not bother me. But this guy obviously has a problem with it! If we do decide to name Baby B Kendall I hope she never runs into him!

"I am a male and my name is Kendall, I have known 5 males named kendall and one female. I detest my name and further more detest the degenderization of it more so.
By the way a mother whose idiocy was to name her daughter Conner did so becuase she felt it was gender neutral.

Problem is society is there are no barriers any longer, nothing is sacred unto men any longer not names, not clubs, not universities nothing but its fascinating how women keep names, keep all womens athletic clubs, keep womens colleges etc.

No Kendall is not a female name and it doesn't sound female, a vowell at the end of the name would feminize it, but altogether this name bloody sucks."

A day at the beach with Eliza!

Today we met Jade and Eliza at Plymouth Beach. I was a little bit nervous taking Cam by myself but it was a beautiful day and we haven't really been to the beach this summer.

I have to say, Cam was such a good boy! He listened when I told him to come in closer and I did not have to chase him once! He was having such a great time playing in the water. He actually sat and played in the sand with Eliza too!

Thank you Jade for inviting us! We had a great time!

Playing hopscotch with the girls. Jade's so good, I never would have thought of that one!

38 weeks!

My appointment today was pretty much uneventful. The MW asked if I was getting atleast 10 kicks every hour and I said "yeah, most of the time." Wrong answer! She put me on the monitor b/c the baby was very quiet. Well, of course as soon as the monitor was on she went nuts! This child is going to be a handful. I can already tell. At my appointment next week they will do an ultrasound to check her size and the fluid level.

Steve stayed home from work so I could go to my appointment. We decided that we'd take Cam to get his haircut after his nap. I had been telling him for the past 2 days that if he was a good boy and let the guy cut his hair and not scream, Daddy would buy him a treat. He kept saying "daddy teet" when I would remind him of it so I thought he understood. We got to the barber shop and he seemed ok. We kept pointing out the other people getting their haircut and how they weren't crying. When it was his turn he freaked. He wouldn't sit in the chair Steve ended up holding him for most of it. The guy was awesome, he did the best he could (which is great!). He just wasn't able to cut above his ears for fear he'd cut one off!

Luckily we won't have to do this again for atleast another month!

The Marshfield Fair

We took Cam to the fair today to have some fun and spend some time with just the 3 of us before Baby B comes. Unfortunately he was too little to go on any of the rides but we did get to see a "baby goat", cows, ducks and chickens.

His favorite part of the day was the cotton candy!

It's bigger then he is!

There's nothing better than pure sugar!

He ate the whole thing! But he was nice and let Mommy have one or two bites!

After all that sugar he crashed in the car!

37 weeks!

3 more to go...

I have gained 2lbs since last week (as you can see from the picture I gained it all in my face!) . I'm not surprised since all I want to eat is junk. Blood pressure is great, as it has been all pregnancy. Baby B's heart rate was 132bpm.

I asked her to check my cervix for my own self torture. Cervix is "soft" (thanks, it's been that way the whole pregnancy...) and only a finger dilated. What does that mean? Nothing, I could go into labor tonight or a month from now.

My guess as to her arrival is September 8th. We'll see!

Fun with a glue stick!

Since it was raining I broke out the "arts and crafts" box that I have. Cam had a blast with the glue stick and some pom-poms!

Mommy a moooo!

We were driving home tonight and Cam said to me "Mommy a moooo!" I had no idea what he was talking about because we were in the neighborhood and there were no cows around. Plus, he knows how to say Cow. Steve and I were trying to figure out what he was saying when we turned up our road. Right there in front of us was the moon! "Mommy a mooo!" He freaking knew the moon was in the sky!

He amazed me the other night again. I had just made a cake and it was sitting on the counter cooling off. Well, he saw it and said "mommy cake." Cameron does not have cake except for birthdays and such here. How he knew it was a cake blew my mind!

Cam has had a word explosion this month. It is amazing! I'm so proud of him! He has his early intervention intake on Wednesday and I'm considering canceling it.

We finished up the nursery today. Cam's crib is in the baby's room and he has the crib from Nana's house. He actually slept in his big boy bed at nap time because he didn't like the crib. We tried to make a HUGE deal about him sleeping in there by himself but come bed time he could not have cared less! Into the crib he went. At least we made some progress with the bed.

Now that I have the baby's bedding in the room I don't think the rug (#2) is going to look good. There's flowers in the 2 pictures I hung up and also on the crib sheet. Adding a rug with flowers will just be too much. There was a striped rug at Pottery Barn Kids that I like but of course now its not on the website. The search continues!

We need a bigger house!

It's very sad to say that after only 2 years we have out grown this house! Steve has been using the 3rd bedroom as his own personal closet. Well, now with the upcoming arrival of Baby B he has to give it up!

We had great intentions to get the room organized and complete today. It didn't really happen. First, we cannot move the crib in there since Cam is still in it. I have thought about moving it anyway and seeing if he'll sleep in the bed but I'm not really ready to "force" him out of it. So, Steve emptied the closet, brought the mattress/box spring downstairs and moved his dresser into our room. I washed the curtains, mopped the floor and hung a picture. That's it. Of course we made a HUGE mess in our room and downstairs. Does it ever end?

36 Weeks!

I guess 13w of bed rest did its job, they didn't think I'd make it this far! I on the other hand do not think this child is going to come any time soon. I have an appointment tomorrow so we'll see if I've made any progress.

I went to Babies R Us today and bought some diapers, nipples, binkies and a few other things. Now, if we could just get Cam out of the crib we'd be all set!

I Miss...

I miss my pre-baby body.
I miss uninterrupted sleep.
I miss hanging out with "the girls."
I miss Margaritas on the rocks, no salt with a splash of Chambord. (no, its no accident that one follows hanging w/the girls).
I miss spending quality time with Steve.
I miss living in Andover.
I miss Cam after he has gone to sleep for the night.
I miss being able to go to the beach and read a book.

I will NOT miss these damn pregnancy hormones.

A very busy week!

Cam went back to just 2 mornings a week at daycare. Since I decided I'm off bedrest I wanted to spend more time with him before Baby B comes.

On Monday Lucy and Tanya (aka "yaya") met us at the Maquan Playground. The had a blast! It's a great playground because it's far from the road and the ground is that soft, squishy stuff so they can't get hurt.

Wednesday we met Lucy/Tanya and Ava/Michael/Carla at Penniman Hill Farm in Higham. There was a little petting zoo there. Cam's new phrase that day was "baby goat."

Today we went to Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester. Cameron had an absolute blast pushing Gina's baby carriage around! I guess he's ready for his baby sister to arrive so he can help Mommy!
***Thank you Kendra for the picture!
