Playdate at the Children's Museum in Easton

Today we met all the kids at the Museum. Cam had tons of fun, especially going up and down the stairs to put a ball in the chute. I was a bad Mom and didn't take my camera. Hopefully the other Mom's will send me some pics they took (ahem Tanya and Jade).

I'm tired of this...

So back to the doctors yesterday. It was a different midwife and she told me that the bed rest is until 34w not 32w like I was previously told. I had to go back today for another fFN then bring it to the hospital. Why I have to bring it to the hospital is beyond me and it is nothing but a pain in the butt. I called yesterday to pre-register to drop the sample off. Of course when I got there today the lab didn't have the paperwork so calling was a waste of time. Actually this whole thing is a waste of time.

The fFN came back negative. What a huge surprise. I go back in 2w and I am refusing the fFN. There has been no change in my cervix and a positive fFN does not mean I will go into labor.

4 more weeks.

Backyard Clam Bake!

Yesterday the girls came down for a "clam bake!" Since college it has been a yearly tradition to go to Brown's for a long day of eating and drinking. Being on bed rest kinda put a damper on those plans so the girls brought the food to me! There was like 18 lobsters, corn on the cob and what looked like 20lbs of steamers.

I was afraid it was going to rain and we'd be stuck in the tiny kitchen. The rain held off but the wind didn't. I warned the girls the umbrella might go flying across the yard. They didn't believe me until it happened. Luckily Cara and her cat like reflexes caught it! If only I had a picture of that!!

Being 30-something has not slowed these girls down. Damn can they drink! 30+ beers and a bottle of Bailey's didn't stand a chance with them. Luckily the pregnant and sober ones drove!

Congrats again to Sierra! We get to add another baby to the bunch!

Thank you Helena for the burp cloths. I love them!!

Playdate with Eliza!

Eliza came over today for a play date. Cam was being shy at first. He surprised us all when he picked a Dandelion in the yard then walked over and handed it to Eliza.

Cam gives kisses!

Last week Cam sorta started giving kisses. He would just press his mouth against you. Today I was holding him and he actually gave me a real kiss! He did the same thing to Steve tonight. We were sitting at the table eating dinner (Cam was down, he decided he was done). Cam was running by Steve but he stopped and kissed his knee. It was so precious!

Cam's school picture!

Last month Cam's daycare had pictures done. Here is his! I guess he would NOT put down the toy train. The photographer asked Cam's teacher if he always smiles with his mouth open. She said yes. I think he has a cute smile!

Cam's Party!

Today we had a small birthday party for Cam.

We arranged for the fire truck to come so the kids could play on it. As the day ticked by we were afraid they weren't going to show up but they did! The kids had a great time! Here's Cam's friend "L" with the helmet on. I think it may weigh more than him!

Cam seemed a little unsure sitting in the big driver's seat!

Thank you everyone!

4 more weeks!

I had my appointment this morning. I had to do the glucose test. Drinking the orange sugar was worse this time. Immediately after I drank it I felt like I was going to throw up. Not fun.

My appointment was with J the midwife. I love her! She's got a great personality and is easy to talk to. She is the one who discharged me from the hospital. We reviewed everything that's been going on and she talked to Dr. A about the "game plan." Dr. A said bed rest until I hit 32w (I'm 27w6d now). If I go into labor after that they will not stop me. I was hoping to be able to go back to work one day a week but that's not going to happen! J did another fetal fibronectin test to make sure I'm not going to go into labor any time soon. I think its going to be negative....cross your fingers! My cervix is 50% effaced so there hasn't been any change since this whole thing started.

I'll go back in 2w for another fFN.

The fFN did come back negative which means the odds of going into labor within the next two weeks is very low! YEY!!

Cam was invited over to Emma's Nana's house to go swimming. He had a great time! He was exhausted and asked to go to bed. Mommy's exhausted too! Thank you Kristin and Emma for inviting us over!

Cam's new shoes

I bought Cam a new pair of shoes since his other ones had gotten beat up. I think he likes them!

Yes, this is how he likes to eat breakfast and sit infront of the t.v. each morning. The shoes are a new addition to the hat!

Steve is turning the "Big 4-0" on June 12th but we decided to celebrate a little early. I would love to post the picture of us that my step father took but I don't think Steve would appreciate his mug on the internet. SO you'll have to settle for one of me! Here I am at 27w2d:

Cameron got BIT at daycare today!

Steve dropped him off this morning. The drop off didn't go so well because his favorite teacher wasn't there and he hadn't been in over a week. I picked him up at 12 so he could nap at home. When I got there he was still eating so I let him eat a bit then took him home.

Well, when I was getting him out of his carseat he had HUGE bite mark on his upper arm. I can count the # of teeth this child had. I was extremely
surprised because no one had said anything to me. I called and talked to one of his morning teachers who I know well. I told her that Cam had a bite mark on his arm. She said she wasn't sure when it happened, then said the kids were laying down (not sure why they were laying down...) and he started to cry. The teacher picked him up and asked the little girl what happened, she didn't say anything but I guess she's not a great talker. The teacher said they put her in time out b/c they figured she did something. The teacher said she would write up an incident report. I just can't believe that Cam wasn't holding his arm or told her he had a "boo boo."

A few weeks ago Cam got hit in the head w/a toy (on his temple) and had a cut. I'm wondering if it's the same girl. I know Cam can be aggressive especially when he's frustrated or excited but this is the 2nd time he's come home hurt from another child. I called Steve and of course he was mad! He said he would talk to the main teacher if she is there tomorrow.

I called his pediatrician because I wasn't sure what to do with a human bite. The nurse said to keep antibiotic ointment on it and he only needed to be seen if the skin was broken. Luckily it wasn't!

This is just another reason why this bed rest thing needs to end!
