Arianna's 4mth Appointment

It's hard to believe she's already 4 months old. It really does seem like she's been in our life forever! I must admit, I do miss the nights where Steve and I could actually have a conversation after Cam went to bed or when I could read a book before going to bed myself. Someday...

Arianna is still a little peanut. She weighs 11lbs 3oz (10th percentile). Her curve fell a little but she is gaining weight (a little less than 2lbs in 2months). She is 23 1/2" long (23rd percentile). She grew 2"! Her head falls in the 42 percentile but she has consistently had a big head so they aren't worried about it! Dr. Doug isn't concerned about her flat spot at all. He said it isn't really flat. I was glad to hear that. We decided we're going to hold off on any solids until she's 6 months old. Or if I feel she needs them, I'll start sooner. I just don't think she's ready, nor does she need them right now.

Since she's not a huge fan of the binky he said that getting rid of it around 12mths is a great idea. I was thinking before then! She really doesn't like it half as much as Cam does so I don't think getting rid of it will be an issue.

We talked about her sleeping, or lack there of. Right now we put her in the swing to fall asleep then try and transfer her to her crib. It usually works but this week it hasn't. She's been waking up. I think she's getting some teeth but Dr. Doug couldn't feel anything. We'll see. I hope it's her teeth because I cannot handle her not sleeping at night with no excuse! He said we should bypass the swing while she isn't totally used to it and just put her in her crib and let her cry. It's hard because Cam is in the next room and has to listen to her. If only there was an easy way. Or if she would just sleep!

Our goal with her is to try and get her on some sort of schedule. Right now her sleeping is all over the place and so isn't her feedings. She's on the very low end with daily ounce intake so we're going to try and bump that up.

Overall, we are VERY lucky to have a healthy and happy (most of the time) baby. I wish Cam had an appointment before May to see how much he has grown. I cannot wait for that. Our goals with Cam are to get him out of the crib, get rid of the binky completely, and to start potty training. We have lots to work on!

Such a beautiful little girl she is and I can't believe she is 4 months. And I can't believe my 2 month old is bigger - ha! I'll be on the same adventure in potty training over here. We should all blog about it!

Getting rid of the binky won't be that hard, I promise. It takes a good three days and then he'll forget all about it. You're lucky that Arianna doesn't want it so it won't be around all the time. You'll be fine. The potty training thing is a little more tricky. Just wait until he seems ready. Don't rush it. Emma was 2 1/2 when she did it, but we had the potty out for months and months before that. They say that boys take longer. Have Steve do it!! You'll be fine. I can't wait to see you guys this weekend!
